When it comes to desserts, Black Milk is the first thought on my mind.
Black Milk is the go to place in Manchester if you want a dessert. As it specialises in desserts, it is an ideal spot for Fat Day.
For someone who has a huge sweet tooth, I’ve been crying out for a place like Black Milk for years where I can go just for dessert regardless of the time of day.
As mentioned in my review of Manchester Smokehouse and Cellar, the dessert part of a meal is vitally important when it comes to having the ideal Fat Day experience.
The variety of options provided by the dessert cafe means you can have Fat Day solely at Black Milk, or you can pop in for dessert after having a meal elsewhere.
Not only is it ideally located in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, but with a smaller kiosk in the Trafford Centre, Black Milk has become a mainstay in my Fat Day adventures.
The menu caters to one-off sweet toothers, as well as hardcore aficionados as it was one of the first places in Manchester to offer freakshakes.
Freakshakes are the future of the dessert industry. Creating an exotic milkshake takes skill, but balancing a cake on top of the glass, that’s magical.
If you’re calorie counting, don’t get a freakshake. If you’re like me and calories are simply a non-existent number, freakshakes are the way forward.
I know this next sentence may get a little bit of backlash from those wanting to reduce the sugary content in their diets, but I implore everyone that reads this review, wherever they are in the world, to find the closest dessert cafe offering freakshakes.
Black Milk’s magic does not stop at freakshakes. They also serve waffles and ice cream sundaes, both of which have been sampled on Fat Days. These standard desserts are served to perfection. If you’re not a fan of milkshakes, simply going to this dessert cafe for their waffles will keep you wanting more.
My taste buds tingle anytime I try something new at Black Milk and they haven’t let me down; however, there is always room for improvement. One should not rest on their laurels. Black Milk should start serving pancakes.
As I couldn’t choose which images to use in this review, I’ve made a collection of which you can find here.
Going out for dessert is becoming more and more common. It’s a relaxed atmosphere and you don’t have to get all dressed up to visit a dessert cafe. If I could choose one dessert place to visit for the rest of my life, it would definitely be Black Milk.
A definite for Fat Day.
This is my experience. You are welcome to try it out, but that’s at your own risk.
